So... before I go on and on about the fantastic trout fishing in the Driftless Area-Wisconsin in particular-let’s slow down for a second and take a closer look at what makes this place so special. It’s not just about the fish (even though they’re pretty awesome); it’s the whole landscape, the history, and the way the land has escaped the bulldozer of glaciers that flattened so much of the Midwest. The Driftless is full of steep wooded hills, winding valleys, and spring-fed creeks that twist through quiet farmlands and hidden hollows. Once you start looking around, you realize this isn’t just another spot on the map-it’s a whole world of its own.
